Second Commission!

Hey all!

Finally done with my second commission, thankfully I was able to pull myself away from Overwatch to create this piece! This time I was asked to create an illustration of a Illithid boss monster for a dungeons & dragons campaign. Had a blast creating this evil character, I don't normally create creatures like this, so it was good to get out of my comfort zone! In addition I didn't even do a lineart, just went in there painting shapes! Enjoy!

Hey look at this ugly mug! Had plenty of inspiration from Anthony Jones and Dan Luvisi to create this badass!
In other news, I've got at least two more illustrations commissions lined up! Meanwhile I'll likely be working on some projects of my own to push my design skills by doing conceptual artwork. So keep an eye out for more posts! Thanks for reading!

Sketches & Doodles

Hey everyone! Remember last week when I said things are calming down? Boy was I wrong! Naturally I "escape" these life stresses by doing artwork. Sketches, doodles and a study here and there during this week while juggling everything is what I've manage to get done. I still have two commissions lined up from before, and an additional. Not to mention I have the intention to rework my portfolio (at the moment my artstation page) entirely with new works geared at showcasing my ability to design and do concept work.  Tonight I've just got doodles at the ready, nothing super exciting but I felt like posting -something- here. So enjoy my random doodles!

First and foremost, the sketches that I did today. A bit of a weird idea hit me when I was listening to music. Course comfort food drawing for me are women with limited clothes (really need to find something else), and I thought "Hey what if there was this universe like the movies Constantine and Blade and there was this supernaturals-only gentleman's club! That's totally cool and unheard of! (not.)" So I sketched, and just had fun with it. No stress, no sweat, and quickly done too!

I thought about naming them, but decided not to. The guy on the right is the proprietor, the vampire and oni (demon) babes are well, the entertainers. These characters were done in like three hours, maybe? Not even. Shocked myself a bit! In review, hello long necks! Good thing these were just sketches.

Next up, something less..adulty, this character was inspired by Titan AE. A show as a kid that I absolutely adored. Threw on some music and this cartoon-ish character came out. Was done in like a half hour? Super SUPER sketchy, but added color for fun.

Used inspiration from both main characters. Looks like their would-be daughter maybe?

Last but not least, this is for all you gamers, Widowmaker! Geeze, someone draw something else already! Tracer, Widowmaker, Tracer, Widowmaker! That's it. That's all that people do, well I didn't "think" on this one. I just did. Played the beta pretty hardcore with the gaming community, turns out leading and organizing groups to lead themselves is OP. Next time I'll do my main man, Reinhardt, but for now, more womanly parts.

"No one can hide from my sight." Not the scariest thing to hear but sure helps the team get a bead on everyone!

Alright everyone, that's all for tonight! I've got a lot of projects and commissions on my plate to get to work on, let alone my fair share of "real world" stuff to sludge through. As always, thank you for reading and taking the time to do so. If you enjoyed my art, feel free to search me up on Deviantart or Arstation and, follow, watch, like or upvote my stuff! Every bit of it is appreciated. Thanks!

First Commission!

Yikes! I've been busy lately!

Luckily things are calming down just enough so I could turn my focus towards my very first commission! Woo! I recently opened up commissions to my gaming community that I'm part of as practice and a way to earn a bit of cash towards more tutorials, self-education and maybe a night out or two... nah. More tutorials. Brain food lasts longer than food-food... and if anyone knows me well enough they might be shocked by that statement. Anyway, silliness aside here is the character commission I did for a member in my gaming community, she wanted a painting of her Planetside 2 character with the new Oni helmet.

My goal was to have the character come out of the shadows. Pretty happy with how it came out!

Also here is an image of some quick iterations of the character, having spoke with the "client" she decided on the "cunning" pose.

Alright everyone, it's back to the drawing board to work on my next project!

Feel free to check out my portfolio on ArtStation!  If you're interested in more of my doodles, sketches and general stuff than swing by my DeviantArt page for a look.  Don't forget to check back here on my Blog to follow my journey as a self-taught artist.  Every bit of support not only helps a ton, but also encourages me to continue striving for my dream.  This first commission is a huge step forward towards my future!

I've got a lot on the plate so this should be exciting; one of my biggest tasks to tackle next is to redirect my portfolio towards concept art instead of illustrations.  Thanks to some valuable input, I've realized I'm leaning too far into illustration and drifting away from conceptual art.  I'd like to fix that. It's time to take what I've learned in this past year and run with it. Thanks for reading!
